Thanks Garry, Only a kilometer? If it's that close, I might as well be there - and that wasn't possible this time around. Hope to see you all in October however.

I have the aerodynamics (and approximate tonnage) of a beached whale, so have realistic expectations in competition.

There is always the risk of human error with any form of manual lap counting and as you suggest, the electronic systems are virtually infallible.

Ok I confess it was me. I’ve sill got half a can of chrome paint if anyone else is keen! Maybe I should follow Grants “designer” theme and chrome my gummies?

I believe it was Hamish Drummond and I understand the wheels were painted not chromed, but the effect was terrific.

Hi Peter, It is 103.8 but it can’t be picked up more than a kilometer away. To go any further you need a broadcast liceince.

You still have to remember to actually count the lap each time. We have one guy with a counter who usually forgets to "push the knob" at least once each race.

There is a little mechanical 'Tally Counter' available at Bunning's stores for around $8, which would allow individuals to keep their own lap counts.
