For those who are keen to join for the first time please turn up about 12.30 so we can get you registered and provide a race number for your sails ($5 for each). We have lots of new blokarters participating so everyone is welcome. Helmet and covered footwear compulsory. Two divisions plus handicap results.

Make yourself known to me on arrival and I'll give you registration forms and a set of sailing rules we use. Real simple but necessary for safety with such a large turnout. See you tonight.

Originally sent by: Russell Hi Laura, If you want to come up to Auckland on Thursday nights then you can meet up with lots of other blokarters. Bruce Pulman Park, Papakura. Come off motorway at Takanini and head back south down Great South Rd. Walters Rd is on your left about a Km down Rd. Follow this until you see park on your left. Meet about 6 pm. There are others from Hamilton making the trip.

Originally sent by: Tim Fisk Thanks one and all for the friendly advice. I ended up getting a 2nd hand shadow, and a 2nd hand but unused (brand new) stainless cart with a 3m sail. I tried it out this afternoon with the boys at the park in Papakura and they LOVED it.

Originally sent by: Russell The wind is dropping for Sunday down to about 10 – 15 knts with a bit of rain. I had planned to go to BoP but if not looking good then back to Bruce Pulman Park at 1 pm. Tides aren't much good with a low at the west coast about 7. For those who haven't joined us before at Bruce Pulman, Walters Rd, Papakura, it is a large hard surface with lots of different tracks depending on wind direction.

We used to run a blokart hire operation in Hawkes Bay, before relocating to Auckland for family employment reasons. One of our backup hire venues was a large staff carpark in Hastings, which was usually empty on the weekends. The surface was a coarse seal, much like Bruce Pulman Park in Papakura.
