Discussion message Auckland Sunday teams

Originally sent by: Russell Looks like we might get a few light showers so will move the prize giving and barbeque to John's warehouse, just down the road from BPP. From BPPark head west along Walters Rd to the Great South Rd. Turn left (south) towards Papakura, travel about 300 metres, address is 327 Grt Sth Rd, Unit 6. Apparently you will find it behind Tiffany's Massage Parlour! Hope we don't lose any blokarters!

Discussion message RE: Auckland Sunday

Originally sent by: Russell No trip to BoP this week because of a lack of wind. If there is any wind in Auckland then meet at Bruce Pulman Park, Walters Rd, Papakura at 1 pm. TV weather was predicting some showers as well but they are no problem if the wind comes through in time. See you tomorrow.

Discussion message RE: FW: Auckland Sunday

Originally sent by: Russell Looks like we will have some wind for the opening day of the Auckland Winter Series on Sunday. The predictions are for some rain as well, a little bit doesn't matter but if it's "hosing down" we will postpone for a week. I will put an email out about 9.30 on Sunday morning for those who are travelling, there are a few.

Originally sent by: Russell Hi John, Good to have you aboard. We meet at Bruce Pulman Park, Walters Rd, Papakura. It is opposite the old army base. Make yourself known to me on arrival and I'll give you registration forms and a set of sailing rules we use. Real simple but necessary for safety with such a large turnout. See you tonight.

Discussion message Re: Bruce Pulman Park Thursday Dec 17

Originally sent by: Mike Lansdown Bruce Pullman Park – Auckland's Blokart Heaven… If coming south from the city on the southern motorway, take the Takanini off ramp. Follow Great South Road towards Papakura (same natural direction as the offramp). Go thru 2 sets of lights then turn left at the large roundabout just past the new Mitre 10 Mega Store. Stay on this road, cross the railway line, go straight thru the next roundabout and you are there.

Originally sent by: Russell Looks like the wind has dropped a bit on yesterday, as predicted, so meet at Bruce Pulman Park, Walters Rd, Papakura at 1 pm. We will still have a good breeze and with the hard surface should have some fast trips. See you there.

Originally sent by: Tim Fisk Thanks one and all for the friendly advice. I ended up getting a 2nd hand shadow, and a 2nd hand but unused (brand new) stainless cart with a 3m sail. I tried it out this afternoon with the boys at the park in Papakura and they LOVED it.

Discussion message Re: Auckland Sunday

Originally sent by: Russell The wind is dropping for Sunday down to about 10 – 15 knts with a bit of rain. I had planned to go to BoP but if not looking good then back to Bruce Pulman Park at 1 pm. Tides aren't much good with a low at the west coast about 7. For those who haven't joined us before at Bruce Pulman, Walters Rd, Papakura, it is a large hard surface with lots of different tracks depending on wind direction.

Discussion message Re: Auckland this weekend

Originally sent by: Russell The weather is looking a bit dodgy for most of the weekend. Low tide east coast is 10am Sat and about 11 am Sunday. West coast is 1.30 and 2.30. Wind is currently North /NE and expected to change to NW tomorrow with it dropping off. Sunday may see a change to SW and rising but depends on how soon the next front comes through. If it changes to SW then meet at Kariotahi on Sunday about 1 pm.

Discussion message Re: Tyres

Originally sent by: Mike Hi Guys, I have been reading the discussions on tyres, and here's my "pennies worth". We used to run a blokart hire operation in Hawkes Bay, before relocating to Auckland for family employment reasons. One of our backup hire venues was a large staff carpark in Hastings, which was usually empty on the weekends. The surface was a coarse seal, much like Bruce Pulman Park in Papakura.

Discussion message Re: Auckland Sunday

Originally sent by: Russell Looks like wind has moved to more north this morning so not great for beaches. Yesterday was NW and blowing along beach at Kariothai. 4 made the trip with light winds picking up about 2. Had some short races and tried a few other fun ideas. Today meet at Bruce Pulman Park, Papakura, about 1. Plenty of wind by the looks of it and should be fine in a northerly. See you there for some fun times.

Discussion message RE: Auckland

Originally sent by: Russell Not great for the beaches today. Bruce Pulman Park, Walters Rd, Papakura about 1 pm if we get any wind. A hard surface here and ok for light wind sailing. BoP have their race day. Thought about going down but might wait until next time when there's guaranteed wind. See you Aucklanders at 1 if we have a breeze.
