Looks like the drought is over in Northland! I arrived Thursday night in fine weather which lasted about 2 hours.

As I was being blown across the Matapihi railway bridge on Monday on my bike ride I thought this is a great wind for Blokarting.

What a magic day! Trusty SW stayed around 12 knots with gusts to 20. Most used 3m sails but about 3 or 4 with 4m.

Great wind, probably 17 - 18 knts with some gusts over 20. Everyone sailed 3 metres to start with one change to a 2 metre as the wind rose later in the afternoon.

The big advantage of a "weather bomb" is that you also get wind, something we haven't seen much of this year.

Thanks to the ABC crew for being out at BPP for some great background shots... it looked great seeing a good dozen or so Blokarts out there and the shadow was also filmed.

Hi all, Well yesterday was the best beach day in along time, The wind was up, no rain and a wide flat hard beach what could be better.

Just about the perfect weekend, all we needed was some of the wind from Sunday transferred to Saturday.

Finally! Wind all afternoon. From 20+ knts this morning it dropped away to 5–6 knts about 12.30 and everyone thought "here we go again" but after a brief discussion on sailing...

Yeah saw the weather forecast on Sunday night which said there was a gust of 77 km/​hr at Cape Reinga so thought it might have been good at Tokerau.

Plenty of wind in the morning for the AGM but dropped away for the afternoon. I started 3 races but all were abandoned as the wind fluctuated (or as Ross got in front!
