Discussion message Re: GPS Purchase advise ... Foretrex or Forerunner?

I have a foretrex 101. I brought it from trademe from Logical Choice. It requires 2 AA batteries. The Foretrex is the most unreliable unit Garmin makes.

Discussion message Re: Wgtn Wind?

Hey Peter, why not try the next best thing….. `'Virtual Yardwork' Take your digital camera outside and snap a photo of your yard, then head back indoors and download the picture into photoshop and away you go! I've been doing it for years, its great…...... just wish my neighbours would learn to appreciate it!

This is a must download! It is great! There must not have been much wind in Spain lately.... I used the keyboard. Up lets the sheet out Down pulls it in... Left & right is obvious. I couldn't access the help so I couldn't figure out how to start a new race without quiting (Esc) and relauching...

Discussion message RE: Americas Cup coverage

Jimi, I nearly went to bed when we got the 300m lead, but I am glad I didn’t. What a cliff hanger! I had the TV and the official Americas Cup Site animation running on the computer http://www.americascup.com/en/ - click on the LIVE area of the race results and you can download the animation, or for $19.95 you can get DesktopTV at http://www.tvnzdesktoptv.co.nz/americascup/ and see what we see (I think).

Discussion message RE: prices

Welcome to the Big Asian Smoke – Don, In Tokyo, Taipei, Singapore, Hong Kong, Shanghai there is generally very little visibility. 500m is low though……. Looks like you’re hanging out in the smoky part of town. That’s why Typhoons are so refreshing in this part of the world. After the typhoon, blue skies are reality, not just a dim distant memory. (for a few days) Go Don, Ted, Gordon, Bruce and Steve !!!!

Discussion message Re: Auckland Series Results

Remember that you can drop 1 race every eight so the results will change slightly. Despite a tougher handicap after winning the pre Xmas series Jenny still seems to dominating the over 85 kg class. That will be rectified next Thursday. >>> ... 12/02/07 8:00 p.m. >>> Hi Auckland Club members... and other nosey people!

Discussion message Japan TBS First Episode of Two

Greetings All, All takes were taken in Japanese and English – My Jinglish obviously caused a few beeps on the translation machine. Regardless….. in this case the TV-director opted for an all “English” take. Locally English is considered “cool” . Have a peak or download at your leisure at…. www.hiwinz.

Discussion message Japanese TV Channel - TBS - World Breakfast - blokart Coverage

Greetings All, Todd and Jenny get a take and their Japanese REALLY shines on the programme. Alan, Grant, Russell and a few others I can’t recognize behind/under glasses and helmets get good footage. The files are available for download and viewing at www.hiwinz.com under the video section.

Discussion message Re: Speedo

Originally sent by: nicolas I've also tried different speedo's. Sigma doesn't hold out… Cateye does, even the wireless one which i fix on an extra strut between the triknob and footbarextention hole. Works a gem upto 60 km/h (40mph). Above that speed the reading goes ?x)àç§... GPS is still one of the best solutions. The GARMIN FORERUNNER wristwatch type is perfect an not to expensive. I also use a sports performance recorder.

Discussion message RE: Re: Computer whizz!! race timing system

Originally sent by: Don McKenzie Thanks Mike. These points are the very things that we have been researching. Yes each transponder has a unique 7 digit number which as you say can be your individual frequency number for your racing career. It would appear that the transponder for the rc system will not interact with the activeX system although both are AMB systems. So co-operation between clubs to operate the same system is very advantageous.
