Spare a thought for one who has PLENTY of yardwork and who can't get Virtual Blokart to run on his computer.

Discussion message RE: Need to spend even more time blokarting?

Hey Lukewarm, Not an IT wizzard but have downloaded and played a few games. The manual says that you can turn off some of the features, tyre marks, shadow, high resolution etc to make a play better but this may not help your problem if you can't actually get in. Go to options and turn everything off and then see if you can access through play. It can be a bit of a time waster! Otherwise there is a support address in the help manual.

Hi IT wizzards After frustrating on/off day at bpp thought I would try simsail More – Frustration!! Installed ok but will not run on my computers or super duper dual core with everything that belongs to friend upstairs – comes up with video error on one computer after intro and after selecting the play now. And on all the others even before the intro “cant create 3d file” Any ideas?

Discussion message Re: Omaha Insanity tomorrow Tuesday sparrowf*rt

OK, I'm a wimp and copped out straight away only cos the clean-up takes ages and I've had broken bones before. I didn't hang around long cos the DV Cam wasn't going to last long in that spray. I did manage to get a few snappy takes of 3 people going at hyper-speed past me. Will try and post on utube tomorrow if I can get the computer off my daughter and her school holiday film.

Discussion message RE: Americas Cup coverage

Jimi, I nearly went to bed when we got the 300m lead, but I am glad I didn’t. What a cliff hanger! I had the TV and the official Americas Cup Site animation running on the computer http://www.americascup.com/en/ - click on the LIVE area of the race results and you can download the animation, or for $19.95 you can get DesktopTV at http://www.tvnzdesktoptv.co.nz/americascup/ and see what we see (I think).

Discussion message Auckland Thursday night

A good night for sailing, enough wind to lift onto two wheels although the super heavies might have wanted a bit more. John and Haydn (with new blokart and speed to burn) dominated the top places but also a win for Wayne O in the first race and a win for Nicholas in the last race after leading from start to finish with Haydn closing the gap to 2 seconds at the end.

Discussion message Another Fantastic week - then on to the Next Big Thing

Originally sent by: Mike Moody A bit late but world travel can set a guy back a bit. What an exciting week of racing, fun, friends, and food. Congratulations to Paul and his team of hard working people on another world class event. From all the guys on Team America, let me say Thank You to all for the great hospitality and fond memories. We finally got the wind we had been waiting for and found out what short track blokart racing is all about.

Discussion message Bay Blokart Race Day On Sunday

Originally sent by: Don Welcome Blokarters, Well, what a day for those at the Sharpe end. The Day was great, the most wind we have had at club day so far. The 330m track was covered in 21 seconds. Tell me what the average speed that makes it.

Discussion message RE: Bay Blokart Race Day This Sunday

Originally sent by: Don McKenzie Bay Race day again had a lot of support and some real close racing. We were trialing a counter programme which we are building from scratch. It allows for late registration and very late registration, that is you see the competitor for the first time on their first lap! It fits in with our 'informal' club races format.

Discussion message RE: Auckland Race Results

Originally sent by: Russell The race is on with some very close results after 16 races. The results are on smartgroups: http://www.smartgroups.com/vault/blokart and go to "List files", "Auckland Race Results". The last days 6 races are not in the right order, just how they got spat out of the computer we use for recording finishes. I think 1 race is out of sequence.

Discussion message Re: Ivanpah 05 results

Originally sent by: Mike Moody Phil, I went to the site for results and promptly went to the kitchen and made myself a snack. When I got back, my computer had just stopped smoking and I had to attach jumper cables to read the scores. Whew! I thought I saw the combination to my safe in there somewhere. Championchips can sure put out the data. Is there anything anyone would like to see that we did not get?

Discussion message Re: Speedos and why they stuff up when immersed!

Originally sent by: Mike Lansdown Hi Grant and Phil. I should ahve explained… You are quite right, the 0.3V is not high enough to inputy a "high" into the speedo computer, but in fact inputs a "low", and makes the speedo think the magnet is there all the time.

Discussion message Re: RE: Beach Blast

Originally sent by: nonerd The critical maximum distance of 700mm between sensor and computer seems to be common to all cordless brands and also seems to vary with the state of the battery. My Garmin E-Trex GPS will record right up until the screen goes blank as the battery dies, which isn't what you want to happen either.

Discussion message Re: Beach blast

Originally sent by: nonerd I didn't land in anything. The crap was thrown, with the throwers being the same few every time. I have no issue with people disagreeing with what I write, but I do find it a bit sad when they resort to personal abuse and nobody on Smartgroups takes them to task because it seems the majority are gutless fence sitters.

Discussion message Re: RE: Beach Blast

Originally sent by: nonerd Thanks for providing some DISCUSSION Kem. Pity Garry and Craig chose to attack the author rather than the subject. There's no doubt that GPS are tough on batteries. I started with a Cateye Cordless cycle computer but distance from sender unit was critical at 700mm max, so only place to mount computer was on foot bar. I later mounted a Smart unit on the handlebars.
