Greetings Grant, I won’t elaborate on my utterly utterly foul mood after today’s race and instead look on the bright side.

 I have the aerodynamics (and approximate tonnage) of a beached whale, so have realistic expectations in competition.

Fantastic first day to kick off the champs. 36 races from 10.30 (delayed start waiting for wind to build to 7–8 knts) through until 3.40 when we called it quits.

Fine weather today, a bit of wind later on – 10 knts NE just enough for the lightweights to make it around the track – bad luck Orca.

Yeah saw the weather forecast on Sunday night which said there was a gust of 77 km/​hr at Cape Reinga so thought it might have been good at Tokerau.

Great practice night last night in preparation for this weekends event. Good wind and about 12-13 zooming around the track, some racing some just sailing.
