Auckland
Hi, Looks like we have a couple of opportunities for this week. Wednesday Graham has organised for the Aussies to meet about midday. Thursday night will be our first twilight night, not a race night, but registration for the twilight series and some fun casual sailing, meet about 5.30 - 6. Race nights will start the following week with racing on every second Thursday starting about 6.15 pm. |

Aussies at BPP Auckland
The Queensland contingent from Mackay is planning to be at BPP from about lunchtime on Wednesday but they need to leave by about 4pm. If we can sneak a few hours off work, they would appreciate being shown around our track. |

RE: Yeppoon.....Say What
Hi Theo Many thanks for the update and the earlier provisional results. An excellent showing from NZ and great that you left some room for the Aussies. I’m sure we can expect a strong challenge from those progressing from Production to Performance next event. I see Don was kept busy in an official capacity (Richard’s photo album – thanks Richard)! |

Re: BAI Messaging Service
Originally sent by: Dave Pearson Without looking at this new service, another idea I have had is using a user forum. I have been using one for another interest I am involved with, and this sort of thing would probably work quite well with they way we all keep in touch. Some forums will forward new messages to users via email also. Maybe it could be setup through the Blokart.com website. Just a thought. |

Re: NZ Open
Originally sent by: Clinton Hi there everyone On behalf of the Melbourne Blokart Club, I would like to congratulate Blokart, BAI and all the organisers on a fantastic NZ open. Even with the lack of wind we (Paul’s children) all had a fantastic time meeting old rivals and friends and also meeting our distant Blokarting cousins from the USA, Spain, Belgium, Japan, Holland and New Zealand. |

RE: Nationals?
Originally sent by: Clinton Hi there in Kiwi Land There is a few (15) Aussies planning to come over to your nationals in October. Could anyone tell us where Bruce Pulman and Blokart Heaven excactly are? The travel time between the 2 venues? If there a caravan park or motel near them? and there names. Is there any Kiwis that would like to host some Aussies? |

RE: Lubricant for Kiwi Hot Air Generators
Originally sent by: Grant Hi Lee, I just thought I would tread carefully – you might've been an Aussie – kinda sensitive people in touch with their feelings. Once I found you had plenty of choice of beers in the US, I stuck with the beers I knew in the end. There was an Irish pub in Chicago, but I don't remember the brand. A "real ale", brewed on the premises as I recall. |

Re: RE: Australian Champs Round Up
Originally sent by: Clinton Hello everyone The discussions and accusations going on about the so-called underhanded tactics that we implemented into the Australian Championship, I believe we, Australians have the right of reply. There was never any underhanded tactics about the Australian Championships in the way the champion awards where handled. |

Re: RE: Australian Champs Round Up
Originally sent by: Mike Moody Mike, Sorry to hear about the controversy involving how the "Australian Champion" was decided. Certainly, it was bad form by those organizing the event, and they will have to live with any future consequences resulting from their actions. Unfortunately, you made a comparison between the Aussies and the US about "winning that way. |

Re: RE: Australian Champs Round Up
Originally sent by: kembro45 Hi All, Phil's right, don't tarnish all the Aussies with the same brush. That was the organisers decision to award the Aussies with titles not Australian blokarters and something that hopefully won't be done again. Well done to all the Kiwi Team, especially Sam, I was more impressed with his good sportsmanship, than his speed, not that you weren't fast). |

RE: RE: RE: Australian Champs Round Up
Originally sent by: Mike Mulholland Hi all, I've just started reading about this little controversy – if I have it right, our guys went over to Oz and cleaned up just about every class. This is acknowledged by the Aussies if you ask them the direct question, but because they were the Australian champs they only refer to the Australians in each race with the highest points as being the Australian champions. |

Re: RE: RE: Australian Champs Round Up
Originally sent by: Tim Fisk Sounds like when we have the NZ championships, we should invite people from all round the world, and may the best Karts win. However for the Aussies, who are obviously used to "special rules" we could then have a "special championships", just like they do after the Olympics, to cater for those who through no fault of their own, are unable to compete with the worlds best. |

RE: Australian Champs Round Up
Originally sent by: Todd Tall poppy syndrome is of concern in nz… a strange social tweek devalues the outstanding achievement of the few so that the masses may feel better about themselves. I see that this sickness is far advanced in Aussie. What happened to celebrating human achievement and congratulating those who have worked their asses off to be bloody good at what they do? |

RE: Australian Champs Round Up
Originally sent by: Grant Congratulations to all the winners, and also those who "been there, done that, but didn't get the tee shirt". I guess the Kiwis would have kept the America's Cup if they had called it the "Australian Cup", as they could have competed with "Aussiie Rools"? If used in NZ the Race Relations Act would have been breached and the lawyers would dine on the proceedings for years – just like the America's cup. |
