Bearing Size etc
Hey guys,
Could someone in the know just tell me what size etc the rear bearings are etc. Even better the type number?
I want to pop down to alk bearing etc and grab a set of those other stainless bearings most of you run and see what they are like.
Took my standard ones out yesterday and even thou I have cleaned for a second time etc I feel 2 of them are a little bit sad so want to try a different type to see if I can't get them as smooth a Orca's :-)
Every little bit helps eh esp in no wind alk at the moment.
Cheers Muz
Hi Murray,
The pre 2008 (late 2007 fro some of us) blokarts use different sze bearing (100 Km race comments) so watch out.
The bearing number (6 digits) is stampeed on all the bearings I have ever seen so use that numbers.
blokart dealers and blokart international have them too.

Murray – do check out the price of bearings from Blokart. Stainless is not as common as steel as they are softer. Blokart use so many that can get a good price on them, so may be cheaper than the local bearing store.
Nick
The rear bearing size depends on your stub axle size there a to sizes most older karts have a 6202 with the 15mm axle and Most 2008 come standard with 17mm stub axles bearings and use a 6203. The performance stainless bearings available at blokart last time I check were both marked 6202 as they are custom designed and neither fit the design specs for a 6202 or a 6203. The main reason the bearings a better from blokart is they come with no grease so you save time cleaning all that grease out and also the bearing tolerances have been changed to make them spin better.
Cheers
Richard
Hey Guys
If you have an 08 Kart the rears are on a 17mm axle and are Stainless 6003’s RS as supplied or ZZ. which are Standard hi speed. Not all bearing suppliers have the SS ones on hand as they are a food industry/ marine item. But hey, if you are not on the beach or salt the steel ones are fine and cheaper
. Check our prices I think we are competitive and can post out overnight. Blokart went to Stainless as they in general take more neglect than steelys and less rust staining. However they only “Stain - Less “and still require washing down and normal inox or lube.
Cheers PB
Hey youall!
They are a standard bearing just with no Grease in them . Wash out your old ones and “Voila” Orcas top secret is exposed. All standard maintenance stuff as is legal in the one design.
Cheers PB

Looks like plenty of wind for the weekend plus a little rain. There are a few making the trip to Papamoa for race day Sunday otherwise meet at BPP after lunch. If you are looking for a ride to Papamoa then Jon is taking a trailer and can fit others in. Ring Jon on 0272823923. Have a good weekend.

We are heading to Kariotahi tomorrow @ 8am wind permitting for a beach run for about 1–2 hours, may be too early for wind but we wil see. Adrian D>
A small group of about 10 trickled into BPP today obviously deceived by the 20 knot SSW blowing at homes all over Auckland. The 10-15 knots at 1pm had disappeared to 0-5 knots by 2pm but gradually picked up to 7-10 a while later. We had some informal self handicap races and it was good to see Jude and recently joined Rod making a good show. Young Dominic from Macleans College turned up again and looked to be thoroughly enjoying himself racing and being on 2 wheels occasionally. I reckon he's hooked.
We are hoping for about 10 students for our "school day" on Sunday 29th June and need as many seasoned club members as possible to help with rigging up and keeping the students interested with a few show-off tricks, capsizes etc.

We had different issues at Karoiatahi, on arrival we initiated our 3m sails and I had a couple of reasonable runs but the wind was too strong!!! Then the wind backed to SSW from SW and this made sailing too hard to be worthwhile but was good to use the 3m sail after 6 months.
