We could always swap to Sunday (it is long weekend), we will see later in the week, besides, I don’t find windfinder that great for down here (I pick the weather site that offers the most wind, ha ha)

Cheers

Phil

Metservice forecast for Kapiti to Waitarere:

Outlook:

Saturday: Becoming northwest and rising to 20 knots at times. Cloud increasing.

Sunday: Northwest 25 knots, then late southerly. Occasional showers.

Monday: Southerly 20 knots, dying out. Showers clearing.

Which looks alright for us on Saturday.

There are three other weather sites that do not concur, so that puts us in a bit of a dilemma...

Metservice site is usually the more reliable site for this region, so we are going to run with what they offer.

I will put out an update on Friday night and text update on Saturday morning, otherwise we will see you on the beach from 10am (beach should be usable from 9am, if anyone wants to practice). Let me know if you need a text.

With it being a long weekend, we could always switch to Sunday, should the weather be not suitable on Saturday. We will need to know how many are keen for Sunday, before making that call though.

You can enter either race, in your weight group.

There will be 2 weight groups, under 82kg and over 82kg

The 50km and 100km races will be run at the same time

Pre-race registration is available on our website  http://www.capital-blokarters.org.nz/marathon.htm

We are still looking for volunteers to help on the day with marshalling and lap scoring, if you are not racing and/or have a partner of friend coming along, let us know

Capital Blokart Club Waitarere Beach  100km Marathon

Sat May 31st – low tide is 12:00

There will also be a 50km marathon run at the same time, for those that may not hack the distance

Racing will be around two marks, 5km apart, races will be 10 & 5 laps respectively

Rig up and registration from 10am with marathon starting at noon,

Start line will be approx. 500m north of beach entrance, either rig up in car park and sail up to start, or drive-up to “pit area” by start line and rig there.

Registration will be at pilot tent by start line

1145   Registration finish

1145   Pilot briefing

1200   Marathon start

Entry fee $5 for club member, $10 non member.

Catch you in the wind

Regards

Phil
