Congratulations to All Participants at the NZ Open Blokart Nationals
WE had sufficient winds to complete the 16 round racing series and a handicapped Champion of Champions. We had up to 80 entries including racers from Australia, Japan and United States. As well as Wellington, Hamilton and Auckland.
The Bay of Plenty club did very well which reflected in the over all results. The overseas racers were worthy opponents and their participation was admired by many.
The Results:
Lightweights – Gabe Young 1st Bay Team
Simon Bartley 2nd Bay Team
Beds Davidson 3rd Bay Team
Middleweights- Haydn Ingall 1st Auckland Team (Also belongs to Bay Team) Ross Ludwig 2nd Bay Team
Sean Fidler 3rd USA Michigan
Heavy Weights – Stuart Cooney 1st Bay Team
Russell Harray 2nd Auckland Team
Allan Levet 3rd Auckland Team
Super Heavies – Theo Vondervoort 1st Bay Team
Don McKenzie 2nd Bay Team
Richard Harrison 3rd Bay Team
The Champ of Champs handicap a big congratulations to Haydn Ingall and my apologies to Gabe, you could say I got in the way, to put it mildly, I must have been in the sun too long, shall have to make it up to him (it will take a while)
A big thanks to Tina Beckett and Lesley McKenzie to doing the timing system over the four days (and the preparations b4 hand) and the ever trusted IT support of Richard Harrison who organised the smooth running of the systems and transmitter reception, AND to the Bay Team in support marshalling, runners, etc together with the help from all those there.
And to Paul's Team at Blokart International, venue, tools, support and the event, thanks.
Thanks again,
Cheers,
Don
