Was a very interesting day yesterday at the track , winds being 40 plus knts . Dezz and myself decided it was time time try and brake my old speed time of 62 kph on the track at Blokart heaven . We arrived there seeing no one on the track, trees bent over so far they were almost on the ground . l struggled to open my car door and and check things out as the wind was so strong , dezz said some interesting words and decided to stay in the car. l raced over to the shop all excited . l was greeted by PB and Garry after saying the merrys and da happy new year stuff l said l was going to try and brake the track record witch as far as l now lezz holds 63.kph . PB seemed to think l could do it so he offered me his new proto type sail one and half mtrs to try so off l went all excited . lt wasn't long before someone else turned up but after braking afew things he soon left with no money in his pocket . l went out on the track in this very small sail it did not take long before l was up on two wheels hitting speeds of 50 plus kph .Dezz decide to get out of the car and set up after paul gave him a 2 mtr to try .l had been on the track for over 15 minutes and did not seem to go any faster than 53 kph with this very small sail so l said to my self put on the 3 mtr . l went back to the car and dragged out my 3 mtr . What fun trying to set that up l got wacked in the face twice had my helmet take off and roll almost into the soon to be lake . l finely got it all together and off l went , trying it on the grass first l hit 40 kph and spun out turning , what fun . soon l was out on the track ,all the wanabe blokarters watching me behind closed doors as l started racing around at start speeds of of 56 kphs, My 101 Garmin GPS was werth its weight in gold that day . l was flying having the back of my kart hopping across the track and the front sliding l reached speeds of 60 plus on the corners still getting around without to much trouble l then hit a bullet my GPS went from 60 to 63 and then l saw the corner coming up and fas t at that l undone my seat belt lent right ford with all my weight over the side wheel and turned , 60 kph and sledding l had no control l slid almost halfway down the track side ways ,then bang into a wooden post one up frm where l hit the last time l slid out of control . l thought to my self this is going to cost me and it did . My pod got crushed , l broke my right rear Axel and bent the stainless Axel . l got out parked up the wreck and trotted off to the shop to buy some new bits. Paul and Garry saw it all and Garry new once he saw me at that speed and in a slide it was money in the till . l brought my new bits and went back to fix it all up again . l must have spent half an hour trying to get that broken Axel out of the frame . l finely got things sorted out and the man him self turned up Mr john niko , l thought kewl now we are going to have some fun .lt seem the wind had dropped off abit to about 35 knts and john had brought some people down to show them what blokaking is all about , not a good day but what the heck aye . The wind had dropped off but it was gusting and l did not like that as my pod had got stretched as did my sail . l thought l had been on the track lond enough so l decided to give PB a hand to sort out his new Hang glider and get it ready to fly . We spent most of the after noon doing that and then after 5.30 it was time to hit the track again . l was all on my own l stayed to 7.30 and decided to pack up when my hands started to blister . Dezz was all packed up waiting for me in the car . We had a great day in all .hope to see you all soon out there doing it .Happy new year . cheers marce
