Hi and a big thanks to all competitors and families that turned up to make the event such a great success. Dare I tell you the wind came in on Tuesday and has been blowing by 10 am every day since? The karters who turned up the last two days have had a ball with speeds approaching 60kph. The last of the US team have got the track wired with only one of them turning into the "Girlyman".
Even Les succumbed to the superior ground hugging capabilities of PB (Pork Belly) and no matter how many sand bags he added or cool sunnies he wore he just couldn't get out of the slipstream of yours truly once over hauled by the impeccably tuned sport/pod combo of the master! Yadayadayada..........
Meanwhile back in the real world, I want to extend my thanks and gratitude to all who have made the Open such a great event. The comradeship and friendships that were renewed and new ones made. Thanks even to the beer Nazis who managed to marshal a level of sobriety unparalleled at blokart regattas. I did detect the aussie contingent striving to thwart the nazis efforts by trying to double dip the bar. And also chugging down scotch and cokes like tomorrow they were getting their throats cut.
The bitter irony was that we put the event back one week so as not to heavily conflict with the "Vic Titles, Speed Week and the British and Euro champs which have all fallen into the same Two week period.
But Hey there is always next year.
So thanks to all
Best Regards
Paul
