Congratulations to all the winners, and also those who "been there, done that, but didn't get the tee shirt".

I guess the Kiwis would have kept the America's Cup if they had called it the "Australian Cup", as they could have competed with "Aussiie Rools"? If used in NZ the Race Relations Act would have been breached and the lawyers would dine on the proceedings for years – just like the America's cup.

Should we be surprised? – it brings back memories of the cricket daisy cutter in 1981 when the Aussies bowled underarm to ensure the Kiwis couldn't win the cricket, we got 1st =.... I was in India at the time, and the Indian's were infuriated that their adopted national sport had been tarnished – said one "it's just not bl**dy cricket is it?"

But that's not what we want for Blokarting.

Let's hope the American's don't use the same system at Ivanpah.

But seriously guys, thanks for what I hear were a great venue, great hospitality, and the opportunity for the guys over the diithch to get some international competition and first class practice before Ivanpah. We're proud of everyone's efforts. We look forward to seeing some Aussies at Ivanpah too.

I also hear the lap timing system was brilliant, sharing gear with another great event, the V8 Supercars, a feat that the Kiwis couldn't hope to emulate (but could still win) – we can't even make a car. Let alone a V8! But three wheels with a sail and no brakes – more our style! We even call the thing in the front the "keel".

I digress, the timing technology was superb, and the printouts were testimony to the real winners.

We look forward to hosting you at THE event here in NZ sometime on our level playing field. Ah! Blokarting, what a great sport – should be in the Olympics!

Regards
Grant

PS, it's okay for you to play pop music at our commemoration next year – we're not inviting Helen! ANZACS. If we're not taking the piss out of each other we're there side-by-side!
