Thirteen media representatives attended the Kellogg's Nutri-Grain World blokart Championships Media Day, yesterday. A very impressive turnout!!

blokart Heaven Papamoa turned it on: ). A sunny day welcomed media to the Bay, and provided great conditions for their initial welcome and tour of the venue and manufacturing facilities, and to conduct interviews with some of world's best karters.

Sheltered from the light rain that ushered in the 8 - 10 knot Westerly, the media, and Kellogg's management and event organisers, enjoyed a magnificent catered lunch in the kiosk, which overlooks the purpose built blokart track.

By lunch's completion, conditions were perfect for the showcase competitor's race. Members from the Bay blokart Club bolstered numbers, to put on a impressive snapshot of what is to come for the inaugural world event.

Media were then given the opportunity to familiarise themselves with the greatest toy on the planet, before taking to the start line for a three-race series to establish the top six to battle it out with the some of the world's best karters. Fifteen-knot gusts caught a few out, including a very competitive Jo Holly - sailing in inventor, Paul Beckett's new flame engulfed POD - who experienced the wrath of Crash-Corner.

Everyone walked away with the blokart-Grin, but it was Brenton Vannisselroy from Radio Sport toke out First; Adam Thomson, All Black came second; Kelly Exelby, Bay of Plenty Times came third.

Thank you Kellogg's, JML and Brand Events for bringing this together, the competitors for making themselves available to go under the media spotlight, and Bay blokart Club for facilitating awesome racing (great solo debut on the timing system, Pam: ).
