Hi Grant,Look forward to seeing all the 'north of Bombays, crowd.Looking pretty good at the moment with Westerlies of 20 knots, but you know these damn forecasts!Cheers.Theo----- Original Message -----From: BKTo: ...Sent: Tuesday, August 12, 2008 9:37 PMSubject: RE: [blokart] Race day and Worlds practice day this Sunday!Hi Theo – many thanks for organising this.
We had a really great Sunday after the unexpected arrival of the wind, and I’m sure Team ABC will be keen to get some more time on the track!
We’ll, Russell as the new BAI fearless leader sounds like he’s ready to give the Olympics a crack so let’s go for it!
I guess we can bring share wind again. It looks like 10 knots plus at this stage! We might just have to pre-register so we can get a sleep-in on Sunday for a change.
I think Nick is keen and I may have my arm twisted – anyone else keen? Send me an email if you are interested and I’ll see if we can pool a few vehicles.
The grins were looking pretty good on Sunday – a taste of the track at it’s best sure did help!
Cheers
Grant

Subject: [blokart] Race day and Worlds practice day this Sunday!Dear fellow Blokart enthusiasts,
Theo here.
I have volunteered to step in and give our fearless leader, Richard, a break, in the organization of this Sunday's race day at Blokart Heaven, which is a postponement from last Sunday. He needs and very much deserves to just relax and have a "blast around" the track for a day. I'm sure you will all agree.
The worlds are getting close and things are winding up for what's going to be an awesome event! I have been watching the Olympics.Fantastic! Considering some of the sports competing, I can easily see Blokarting as an Olympic sport for the future!! Nothing is impossible!
Where was I, oh yeh. Apart from this Sunday, we have only one more club race day before the Worlds. The September race day is on 14th September and BH have kindly closed the track to hirers for that day.
So back to this Sunday. There are a number of Aucklanders coming through for the day and they are bringing the wind with them. The race day is on!!!!
So this is how it's going to go.
We will plan to start at 11am, so gear up and register from 10am. If you are hiring a transponder, please be early, or e-mail or text us to let us know you are coming, so our wonderful volunteers in the timing trailer can get you sorted! Usual fees apply.
The track will be open to hirers, so with Blokart Heaven's kind cooperation, if there are large numbers of hirers, we may try something completely new. I emphasize, this is new and is experimental only!!
We will have 1/2 hour time slots starting from 11am. So we will race from 11am to 11.30am, iiiiiff hirers are there in numbers we will stop racing for 1/2 an hour and start again at 12 noon, and so on every half hour. So iiiiiiiff there are lots of hirers, we will start racing on the start of each hour. If no hirers, we just carry on.
While the hirers are out there doing their thing, we are more than welcome to just hoon around and have fun around the whole track, but trying not to get in their way. If you feel inclined, go and talk with these people, or sail next to them and give them tips. Remember, these are our possible future club members.
Soooo, if things get really busy and out of hand, and this 'experiment' doesn't work, we will revert to a split track system as we have done before but will use ropes and cones to make the 2 tracks as safe as possible for all. We will make that call based on how things go on the day.
Compulsory beer or wine (or other drink) and sausage (or not) in the kiosk at the end of the racing day!
Please bring your Blokart grins with you and wear them!
See you then,
Theo
