Perhaps also it is a well calculated way of limiting those who do not consider themselves as being competitive.
And why not? - it is a World Champs.Most World Champs require some sort of trials to sort out the best of the best.
By the way, I do agree the fee is high, but I will beg, steal and borrow to get there, and if that is what it costs, thats how much I have to steal!

I've read your comments and the various replies and wish to neither condemn nor condone the charges being made for the 'Worlds".We've known for some time it was going to be expensive and we also know that the number of potential attendees far outstrips the 150 entry cap, so some method of controlling the number of entries had to be applied.
What happened to this sport being affordable. Its $200 to enter the Worlds and that doesn't even include transponder hire. Does adding 'World' to the title really mean we have to pay that much?
