I was very voluble about 5.5s and preserving minimum wind speeds at competitions earlier this year but at the risk of being boring here goes:

1. KISS

2. Don’t change the rules to include or exclude 5.5 metre sails – that means don’t change the minimum wind speed or kart specifications.

3. Then the 5.5 is just another sail in the suite and permitted under the rules – After all - this is not different from the heavier karters choosing to race with a 4 metre sail while light weights are out there doing perfectly well with their 3 metres

4. IF you are going to change the rules to limit or exclude 5.5s then you may as well do the same for Ultras and any other new equipment that comes along that helps increase speed.

5. IF you change the wind speed rule so we have to have 5.5s to compete – bye bye!!
