BLOKART-NZ

What a great introduction to blokarting for the 8 really keen students Ray brought along to BPP from Macleans College. We used the club's and Ray's karts and gave each student about 8 minutes' sailing.

The wind was about 6-10 knots with a few holes. Only one capsize and that was by a good sailor who was pushing his limits - no injury of course. All the students sailed competently across the wind within a few minutes.

We then gave them all another turn with some moving to 4m sails. Packed up at 5.40pm (the wind dropped off but it was Thursday night so only to be expected!) with maybe 3 very enthusiastic kids and another 3 seemingly keen. Gave each a club brochure and invited them and their parents along on Sundays.

Many thanks to Ray for organising the students and their transport and for the loan of his blokart. Also thanks to Tony B and Haydn for showing the kids some faster action and lending a hand.
