Thanks for the Omaha updates – yes, it saved a lot of us a wasted trip and a cleanup.  At least you had a beach experience top-up – hopefully this will revive the memory for another couple of months until we get out on the beach again.

You’ll need a permanent Internet connection (ADSL) to use a softphone or a PC.  Or ROCOM can give you a number that will give you the cheap rates for say, $10 + GST per month.  If you dial that number from a registered number (work/hone/mobile) you can get dial-tone or a callback so you get these great rates.

Call me if this is mumbo jumbo and I’ll walk you through it.

If you have a PC and internet connection at the hotel (or WiFi) while you are travelling you can make free calls and receive calls as if you were in NZ instead of paying the hotel surcharge.  I use it all the time I am travelling (Australia, Singapore, Fiji, Germany, France Switzerland, Spain so far). You can even divert your 2talk number to any of the Free destinations listed below.  I see Thailand is included!
