Hey Richard, Finally,
I have been sitting on my fingers…. Not telling toooo many people….. hush hush. GREAT SHOTS Richard.
For me this was right up there….. LakeIvanpah…… Late LeFroy…….. Yeppoon….. Gobi.
It was ONLY three hours, get over it……, Don
BUT (instructions)….. “don’t break the lights on the side of the asphalt cause they don’t make them any more and we will have to replace all of them!” (Club insurance?)
“When the lights start flashing get back to the safe zone…! If the lights start flashing and you see some headlights 100 meters above the ground … just get off!”
It was like a dream, I was going to tell it as such without compromising the experience… I don’t need to do it again, someone else can take my place… I don’t want to deny anyone of THAT experience!
And “ lets go for coffee” was said at one time…… we sailed here and there and in and out and stop outside some mirrored doors…. Where are we?....... (just follow him)……. Door opens… a full café and a smell of coffees…. Hey we just parked outside a fully fledged licensed café …. How awesome was that?
Oh and the aftermath! Well there were a few phone calls fielded and explained in good humor and in good faith….. Politicians, Heads of “offices”, Adjacent manufacturers, passing distributors, families and friends.
We share this in good faith that it will not be publicized, thanks guys and wish you were there!
Cheers,
Don
Ps Thanks Richard
for the photographs, Today’s shots at the beach were great too…. What did someone say today …. ” Its great to get out like this sometimes…. We should do something for 90mile beach”
On a sad note, don’t over stretch a bungee WHEN TYING DOWN the gear, if, it, is not fully secured at the other end… The hook on the other end went through Theo’s lip ( in and out), no teeth broken and thank goodness it was not more serious, full recovery please Theo.
