I note from this morning's newspaper, that The Warehouse have issued a recall notice for a HUD safety helmet described as a Bicycle/ Skateboard helmet. My purpose in raising this issue is because this helmet appears identical to an earlier type of blokart helmet, which is still widely used.

The problem is described as separation of the Styrofoam inner from the plastic shell. This inner is made up in sections to allow it to conform to the curvature of the outer shell.

Having previously owned one of these helmets, I had to re-glue several of these sections back in place, (I used F2 adhesive) over a period of time. I also noticed they had a tendency for the plastic shell to split away from the rivets securing the chin strap.

I suggest that if you own one of these helmets, you check it for either of these faults and if not repairable, discard it for a new one.
