Wind is light at the moment and swinging to NW 10–15 knts later this morning. No good for the beach. Meet BPP after lunch today. Predictions are better tomorrow – 15–20 knt SW in the morning so will make a call about getting to the beach tomorrow morning. See you at the park.

It never happened yesterday. The wind didn't arrive at BPP other than 2–3 knts at times which allowed Ray's team from McLeans School to get a sail in plus Rebecca and Matty zoomed around for a while in the puffs. No real sailing for the heavy weights, Ross spent 5–6 minutes out there at one stage before the wind died, otherwise a chance to catch up on the gossip!

Monday – predicted to blow SW, low tide is 2.30 and it's current;y about 18 knts at Manukau heads. This should fill in this morning. Ray says Karioitahi Beach now hard and smooth again so suggest we head there about 12.30. Please keep away from the surf club if there are public about. I'll give another update about 10.30 on wind conditions but put in those sealed bearings! Russell

Hi All,

Forgot to mention that the transmitter is finished and if you want to hear what is going on anywhere on the track during the racing you can bring an Fm radio with earphones and tune it to 88.0. Also hopefully the first of the wireless speakers will also be working on the track. Thanks to Allen for putting it together, Theo for the Battery and Don for the Car radio.

Cheers

A steady 12-13 knts at Karioitahi yesterday, almost 90 degrees to the beach, meant good fun sailing for the 6 who turned up. The beach is back to normal, only one real soft patch and with extra low tides lots of beach to play on although a bit lumpy right on the water line. Zoomed around for 3 hours before the hand started to ache a bit. I guess there was a turn out at Muriwai and BPP as well with the nice wind.

BBC race day next weekend. Quite a few making the trip at this stage although may depend on weather. Put a message out if you can give a ride or need a ride to keep cost of trip down ( a petrol price drop this week would be nice!)
